The Dutch Business Council Korea (DBCK)
Membership of the DBCK is for every person who works in a Dutch business affiliate in Korea and all other Dutch people who work in Korea.
Working and living in Korea can be a challenge, professionally and privately. However, it can also be stimulative, gratifying, and rewarding. In that regard, having the right contacts, introductions and friends can be quite helpful. It is good to have the opportunity to share one’s thoughts and experiences with compatriots, particularly if they are from different backgrounds and industry sectors.
The Dutch Business Council Korea offers its members a platform for networking and social interaction through regular meetings and events. Regularly guest speakers are invited, company visits are organized or special events may be the occasion for a gathering.
In addition, the Board of DBCK will provide those who have inquiries about working and/or living in Korea with contacts and introductions where possible and appropriate. In particular young entrepreneurs, settlers or enthusiasts will be supported if and where possible.
The Board welcomes any Dutch national working in Korea or any non-Dutch national working for a Dutch company or joint venture to join.
Do you want to know more about the DBCK or are you interested in becoming a member?

Past Activities
DBCK Hamel Drink / 23-24 Season Closing
On June 21st, the Dutch Business Council Korea kept a Season Closing event at Sauce in Yongsan, Seoul. We look back on a great event with possibly the highest attendance of the year.
The raffle with sponsored prices from among others GeoWind, the Grand Hyatt Namsan and the Mondrian Hotel was a big success and we wish all winners tons of fun with their prices.
We would also sincerely like to thank Winenara IB for sponsoring our event with the delicious beers (incl. 0.0 beers) from Bavaria.
Now it’s time to enjoy the summer holidays. We hope to see everyone back in the new business year ’24-’25!
Kings Night 26 April
Kings Night or Koningsnacht in Dutch, is the lively prelude to Koningsdag (King’s Day) in the Netherlands. The usual festivities include partying in an orange atmosphere. Just like on Kings Day (Koningsdag in Dutch), the color orange dominates Kings Night. Revelers dress in orange attire and the streets come alive with orange decorations and lights.
On April 27th, The Netherlands celebrates the birthday of our King Willem-Alexander. The DBCK can proudly say that we have successfully recreated this wonderful event in South Korea!
The DBCK teamed up with the Dutch Hamel Club and Playground Bar in Hongdae, Seoul. With beers sponsored by the generous Heineken Company and Dutch snacks sponsored by HJM Logistics we cheered together on the birthday of our King. A great night with Dutch snacks, Dutch music and laughter!
The DBCK and participants look back on a very successful event! We hope to make this a yearly tradition.
New Years Drink @ Glue Hotel (Blue Rain Lounge)
On January 12th of the year 2024, the DBCK members and invitees gathered at the beautiful Blue Rain Lounge at the Glue Hotel in Jongno, Seoul.
With some sponsored ice cold beers from Bierbrouwerij de Koningshoeven (La Trappe) and Heineken, we welcomed the upcoming year.
The DBCK was very pleased to welcome the Dutch Ambassador to Korea, mister Peter van der Vliet on our event. Mister Van der Vliet arrived on his post in Korea in the late summer of 2023 and our gathering offered him the opportunity to welcome a substantial part of the Dutch society residing in South Korea.
While enjoying the beverages and the food provided by the DBCK all attendants had the opportunity to network and cheer on the year ahead of us.
